UFOs PUERTO RICO
On the 14th February 1994 I traveled to Puerto Rico from England to carry out my own investigation work into the UFO phenomenon. Why Puerto Rico? This small island, approx 95 miles x 35 miles, lying south east of Florida with the Atlantic ocean to the North and the Caribbean to the South, has been in the Ufologists headlines for many years. Well documented reports have continued to flow out of this U.S. territorial possession ever since the 1987 wave, when it was reported that many witnesses watched a huge UFO hover over an area of water in the South West of the country.
I felt that as so many reports were emanating from such a concentrated region, it would be an ideal area to study this complex subject. It is interesting that Puerto Rico has the world’s largest Radio Radar telescope, built by NASA to search for Extra Terrestrial Life amongst other cosmic experiments. There is the Puerto Rico Trench 130 miles off shore, an area of the Atlantic Ocean that dives down to 28,000 feet and mostly unexplored. Then of course The Bermuda Triangle, an area of ocean which has a long history of mysterious happenings yet to be fully explained. The climate of Puerto Rico is one of the most stable on this planet. This small area contains a large American naval base and testing area. Perhaps it is one or a combination of these factors that make it such a responsive area to the UFO phenomenon?
I arrived in the capital, San Juan, on the 15th February, hired a car and set off to the National Forest area, known as El Tunque, where in 1989 witnesses had observed two jet fighters chasing a brightly lit UFO. I had hoped to stay overnight in this mountainous region but was thwarted as the park was closed to the public at night. I decided to head on via one of the worlds largest naval bases at Roosevelt Roads which occupies about a quarter of Puerto Rico’s eastern coastline. It was apparently here that the two U.S. jets came from during the El Tunque UFO account. The U.S. Navy also acquired over 70 percent of the island of Viequas six miles South East of Roosevelt Roads where the Forces practice mock invasions and other training exercises as part of the Atlantic Fleet Weapons Training Facility. I was unable to get close to the facilities but was able to watch some fighter jets performing some amazing exercises.
From here I decided to drive on to Ponce in the south of the island and make contact with my guide. Before leaving the U.K. I had studied the cases on the Island and had made the decision to concentrate my investigations in the South West of the country where the most numerous and varied accounts were to be found.
My first aim was to acquaint myself with the areas where, since 1987, hundreds, if not thousands of reports have been made. Over the next seven days I spent my time walking in and around these areas equipped with video and camera in the hope of catching an event on film. In the evening I would travel to these areas again with my guide or investigate reports at first hand with witnesses.
The area in question includes the Laguna Cartegena, the Sierra Bermeja Hill range and the Cabo Roja lighthouse region and associated coastline. It is within this area that there is an aerostat radar facility which is used to track drug trafficking under U.S. Naval control and which appears to attract the UFO phenomenon. Locals strongly believe that there is an Alien base under the sea approximately 30 miles south west of the Cabo Rojo lighthouse and also under the aerostat base. Accounts related over the years include the following: many fishermen have witnessed strange lights beneath the sea, disc shaped craft entering and leaving the sea and even strange ’embryonic looking’ tiny beings in the water.
On land there are many accounts of abductions, sightings of differently shaped objects, strange lights, craft being chased by military jets, U.S. jets disappearing into huge craft, circles devoid of plant life found in fields, animal mutilations and even tales of alien beings creeping around at night. On a human level, activity has also been monitored. The U.S. Federal Government has closed off areas of UFO activity on a grand scale, mainly under the pretext of monitoring wildlife. NASA personnel and equipment under military escort, have often been sighted at various locations even though they restrict their convoys to the early hours of the morning. Many U.S. Government vehicles are stationed at the so called Cabo Rojo National Wildlife Refuge, now supposedly a defunct C.I.A. base. Federal agents had also watched UFO Investigators and in some cases used threatening behaviour. I too was closely monitored.
All of the above occurred in a tiny area in South West Puerto Rico. Surely there must be some explanation for such a vast number of people to have witnessed so many different phenomenon?
The first and very lasting impression I had was how sane, sober and honest most of the witnesses were. They would have been the last people I could imagine to invent such bizarre stories. For the majority of them life has certainly become more difficult as a result, especially with the likes of me asking them to repeat what they have told so many times before, often too, having to recall chilling memories. These people come from a wide range of social backgrounds including farmers, policemen, teachers, housewives, fishermen etc. None that I met had gained any wealth from their experiences. They all appeared very ‘normal’ people.
The second impression I had was how open the subject was, how accepted it was by so many on a day to day basis. Hundreds of people go out at night to the ‘hot spots’ or sit on their verandas equipped with video cameras, ready to capture a view of these amazing objects. This phenomenon is a part of their lives and they are trying to deal with it. They know the military are not being honest with them. UFO activity is not so strange in Puerto Rico!
During my time in Puerto Rico I talked to some abductees and many witnesses who had observed UFOs over the years. Most had not recalled any abduction experience but had overcome their initial fear or disbelief. They accepted that no matter what anyone else thought, they knew they had witnessed extraordinary events. Of course, in areas where there had been constant activity the believers outnumbered the skeptics and in fact it is the skeptics who could be ridiculed! Of those who had closer encounters i.e. abductions and communications of various kinds, many had questioned their life values as regards religion, work ethics, health and their relationship with nature. They have gone to their churches and asked for guidance or an explanation of this phenomenon.
Their religious leaders do not accept that it is happening and decline to discuss the subject. The faithful become unfaithful and leave their churches. They look elsewhere. They have found another dimension to religion as we know it. A religion that contains all religions and includes extra-terrestrial life. They feel more spiritually aware, more in tune with nature, more caring and they act that way too. For most people their experience, although for some very frightening, has been a revelation, both overwhelming and unforgettable. They are frustrated that the Church does not accept it and they are livid that their Government and the Military continue to lie to the world.
I must point out, it is understood that there is more than one type of Alien being making themselves known to the Puerto Ricans. Not all appear to be benevolent, in fact quite the opposite. The Grays as they are known seem to be carrying out a genetic program using Humans as their source. This would appear to be occurring on a large scale and must be taken into consideration. Perhaps another reason why the Government want to keep the lid on this?
Although I was not fortunate enough to see anything myself, I was shown photographs of a U.S. jet next to a large disc shaped UFO, an alien Gray that had been shot and killed and video film footage of UFOs.
My time spent walking in the hills where many craft have been seen was both lonely and at times frightening. At one point I heard a loud ‘humming’ which would come on and off, for a period of fifteen minutes. It came from an area which was quite wooded in a in a remote valley area between the hills. I was there to investigate but somehow I felt this was too close for comfort and chose to walk the other way with my hair standing on end.
One other subject that kept cropping up was the report of many animal mutilations. I did not investigate this subject due to lack of time and qualifications however it is an interesting topic that many experts connect with the UFO world. One such expert is Linda Moulton Howe who has researched this in great detail. seelink
I left Puerto Rico knowing that aliens, (whether they are from another planet or this world), at times are sharing our four dimensional world. That it is commonplace for people in Puerto Rico to see UFOs on the island, that the Government is not telling the truth for whatever reason. That people are scared about the events that are taking place and that they are fed up with being ridiculed by people who know little about the subject. They are also very wary about the proof they hold on this phenomenon falling into the wrong hands. It is well known that people have mysteriously disappeared. The potential power to be gained is beyond our imagination. The proof is to be found at many large UFO conferences where film footage, photos, witnesses, and abductees are testimony to this enigma.
